Our rates
Rates are charged at 1 hour minimum at £85.00 and then in half hour units of £42.50.
A half price call out charge of £42.50 is only applicable if no repair is possible, for instance where parts are required. This does not include any temporary repairs or where an extended period of time is required to diagnose a fault.
The half price call out only applies to postcodes starting DA, BR and most SE postcodes. Please call to check if your area is covered.
Gas safety certificates and boiler services are charged at a fixed rate of £85.00. Or a rate as agreed with both parties prior to commencement of work. For larger jobs please call for a no obligation quote.
All prices are exclusive of VAT.
Prices are in addition to materials, parking & central London congestion charge where applicable.
Additional work required on a boiler service or gas safety certificate may incur additional charges in accordance with the hourly rate detailed above. We will always endeavour to discuss this with you before proceeding.
A call out charge at the full hourly rate may still be applicable if we are unable to carry out works once called out. No access to the property, appliances or gas meter where required, no gas or electricity in the property or any visit to fit a part or appliance as specified by the client that does not comply with installation requirements may all incur a call out charge to cover our time.
We reserve the right to charge a call out charge should any of the warranty terms not be complied with.
We always endeavour to agree any additional costs with yourself before undertaking any necessary work.
Any estimation of charges is non-binding. This does not apply to written quotations.
Written quotations are valid for 30 days from date of quotation.
Payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice.
Our warranty
A one year warranty applies to any materials supplied by ourselves and any labour involved. This is increased to two years when carried out as part of a boiler replacement. Our warranty also covers any damage caused by faulty parts or workmanship.
Any warranty does not apply to:
- Any work carried out to existing part(s),
-Any part(s) affected by your failure to maintain the part(s) as instructed,
- Any part(s) that are affected by dirt, sludge or limescale in the heating or hot water systems unless this follows, where applicable, a cleansing process carried out by us,
- Any part(s) that are affected by the faulty / substandard electrical, water or gas supply to an appliance,
- Any part(s) affected by the faulty operation of any other existing part(s) within the system,
- Any part(s) affected by an increase in water pressure following a change in system design or cleansing process, e.g. powerflush or converting from gravity to mains water,
- Any part(s) affected by any other part of the system where we have recommended repairs and those repairs have not subsequently been carried out,
-Any part(s) as supplied by you whether correctly specified or otherwise.
The definition of part(s) as referred to above comprises any fitting, pipe, component or appliance.
Payment
Payment terms are 30 days from date of invoice. Payment can be made using cash, cheque, bank transfer or debit / credit card if on site.
We reserve the right to recover unpaid monies owed through the courts or use of a debt collection agency. Any additional costs for doing so may be charged. Additioonal interest may be charged on late payments.
Any part(s) supplied by us remain our property until paid in full.
Boiler warranties
Most manufacturers offer a warranty on the boiler itself in excess of the standard one year. Please ensure you are familiar with their individual terms & conditions.
In most instances the appliance must be serviced annually by a Gas safe registered engineer and the manufacturers service record completed. We will endeavour to send you a service reminder but cannot be held liable for any failure to do so.
A completed copy of the manufacturer's documentation must be available on site in the event that they attend.
We cannot be held liable for any charge made by a manufacturer to yourself in the event that the fault is outside their warranty terms and conditions unless the fault is a result of our failure.
We reserve the right to charge a call out charge in the event that we visit as opposed to the manufacturer and the fault lies outside our work or that the warranty terms listed above are not complied with,
Parts
Any parts ordered specially for a job cannot be returned unless agreed with the supplier or manufacturer. Where applicable this may incur restocking charges. We reserve the right to charge for the cost of parts.
Cancellation
We reserve the right to charge a call out charge if an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. For larger jobs we reserve the right to charge an abortive fee of up to £150.00.
Other trades
Any damage caused to paint, woodwork, brickwork etc. as part of the job is not covered unless stated.
We need to comply with any relevant health and safety legislation. If we identify hazardous materials or working environments whilst undertaking work then work may need to cease and be dealt with by a specialist contractor to protect both you, your property and ourselves. Costs for this will not be covered by ourselves and any parts or labour up to that point may be charged on a pro-rata basis should the job does not proceed.
We may recommend an alternative firm to complete works outside of our remit but cannot accept any liability for their workmanship..
Unforeseen problems
There are times when our work is affected by other problems on an installation. We try to identify any potential problems before carrying out work to ensure you are aware of what is involved. Sometimes this is not possible, e.g. when working on a boiler or appliance that is non-operational we may not be able to identify other problems apart from the primary failure. Any further work required to repair or bring an installation up to standard may be chargeable.
Gas regulations
We are legally bound by the gas safety installation and use regulations to protect you, your property and us. If a safety concern is identified then it will need to be dealt with in accordance with the gas industry unsafe situations procedure (latest edition). This may involve making an appliance safe by categorising it as dangerous and would mean the appliance or installation would be unusable until rectified. As above, some gas safety concerns may only be evident once work has commenced and any work or costs incurred may be chargeable up until that point.
Compensation
We are unable to offer any compensation for any failure to reinstate services in a timely manor. This includes any cost for alternative accommodation whilst any service is not operating.
